I am inspired to imagine a future in which the global creative industries collaborate in new and unconventional ways to address the world’s most complex challenges.
Building for that reality today, alongside best in class practitioners from design, media, consultancy, brand experience, behavioral economics, and community management across the kyu Collective is truly rewarding. It’s like running a long distance relay race and a hundred meter sprint simultaneously. Wired as an optimist, drawing on all my experience of leading commercial and not for profit creative companies, in diverse environments from USA to Ethiopia, I see a clear gap in the world. There is a delta between the abundance of talent and groundbreaking ideas but the scarcity of new models, organizations, and codes to sustain change. This only strengthens my belief in the vision of kyu and the tasks we set for ourselves.
How do we unlock the creativity and leadership of our people and our clients alike? How do we develop new forms of collectivism in established and nascent markets? How do we catalyze unlikely alliances for greater impact in government as well as in corporations? How do we learn from the new member companies who join us whilst we enable them to grow? In all of this we strive for unity without uniformity and diversity without division. I am excited to be a part of this movement.
