What was our intention?
In Kenya, teen pregnancy rates are high, limiting girls’ options for their future. In partnership with Marie Stopes International, we set out to disarm the stigma facing teenage girls in accessing contraception, and support young women to make informed choices about their bodies and their lives.

What did we do?
Future Fab is a lifestyle brand created with Marie Stopes Kenya anchored in live events (e.g. fashion shows and talent shows) that reframe the narrative around contraception by focusing on the talents and aspirations of teens. Teen ambassadors are on hand to direct young women to a local youth-friendly clinic if and when they are ready to take the next step.

How did this drive impact?
Future Fab has reached over 100,000 young people across Kenya, and as a result Marie Stopes International has seen a seven-fold increase in the number of adolescent clients they serve in their 22 clinics across the country.

What do we aspire to do next?
IDEO.org and Marie Stopes are collaborating in 2018 to expand this work to more rural communities in Kenya.
