Paula Chowles is an executive producer, director, and founder of Never Not Productions, where she leads a multidisciplinary team of filmmakers, video journalists, and motion designers who bring rigor, agility, and craft to every film project they produce.
Her career began in a fast-paced newsroom in South Africa, where she worked as an award‑winning broadcast journalist covering politics, social justice, and breaking news. It was there she learned to move quickly, think critically, and never lose sight of the human story — instincts she sharpened further while producing editorial video at WIRED and AJ+.
While leading creative production at GDP, Paula worked across documentaries, editorial content, and brand storytelling, spearheading projects for Netflix, Nike, IBM, Sony, and more. Her work for Abstract: The Art of Design received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Main Title Design (2019); and her three-part documentary series for Sony AI was an Official Selection of Tribeca X 2023.
